Covenants in Dark Souls 3 can be joined by the player to further enhance their gameplay experience especially the game's Online elements.

Warriors of Sunlight

Lore

An ancient talisman depicting a holy symbol bestowed upon the Warriors of Sunlight. Equip to pledge oneself to the Warrior of Sunlight covenant.

Warriors of Sunlight are brilliantly beaming co-operators who place their golden signatures to help those in need, for it is their duty to deliver a great conquest to their summoner.

Joining

To join the Warriors of Sunlight, you must find it's covenant sigil. The Warrior of Sunlight sigil can be found in the Undead Settlement.

Progression

To progress through the covenant, you will need to turn in Sunlight Medals at the Altar of Sunlight in Lothric Castle.

Sunlight Medals can be collected either through jolly co-operation or by killing the red-eyed Lothric Knights in Lothric Castle. They can also be collected by invading as a Dark Spirit.

Effects

  • Your summon sign and player aura become golden.
  • While invading another player's world as a Dark Spirit, your aura will assume a gold-red tint.

Way of Blue

Lore

Pale blue sheepskin parchment detailing the moon of an ancient accord. Equip to pledge oneself to the Way of Blue. Members of the Way of Blue are the beneficiaries of an ancient accord. When a dark spirit threatens them, a blue spirit will grant them assistance, and help root out the invader. Summoning takes place automatically while this is equipped.

Location

To join, visit Priestess Emma at the end of the High Wall of Lothric, in front of the ladder to Lothric Castle.

Progression

There is no progression within this covenant.

Effects

Whilst in this covenant, Blue Sentinels can enter your world and defend you when you are invaded.

Faded sheepskin parchment depicting the Darkmoon and a sword. Equip to pledge oneself to the Blue Sentinels covenant.

When a member of the Way of Blue is threatened by a dark spirit, the Blue Sentinels, in compliance with an ancient accord, assume the form of blue spirits, and help to root out the invader.

Joining

To join the Blue Sentinels, speak with Horace the Hushed near to the Halfway Fortress bonfire on the Road of Sacrifices.

Progression

To progress through the Blue Sentinels you need to offer Proof of a Concord Kept, which are turned to Company Captain Yorshka in Anor Londo.

To get a Proof of a Concord Kept, you either need to successfully defend a member of the Way of Blue or kill Silver Knights in Anor Londo.

Effects

You will be summoned in the worlds of those following the Way of Blue to defend them from invaders.

Blades of the Darkmoon

Lore

A silver pendant depicting the Darkmoon and a sword, the crest of the Darkmoon Knights, the original Blue Sentinels. Equip to pledge oneself to the Blade of the Darkmoon covenant.

When a member of the Way of Blue faces a dark spirit, the Blades of the Darkmoon, by an ancient accord, help to root out the invader. Summoning takes place automatically when equipped.

Joining

To join you must acquire the sigil for the Blades of the Darkmoon. TheAnor Londo. It can be reached by using the pillar switch on the rotating platform to move it to it's top position. After doing so, walk to the bottom of the stairs and cross the invisible path to the bonfire directly in front of you. The invisible path is straight until you are perpendicular to the bonfire, then turns to the right.

After walking across the invisible path, you will meet Darkmoon Pledgegesture.

You can join even if you have joined the Rosaria's Fingers covenant.

Progression

To progress through the Blades of the Darkmoon you need to find Proof of a Concord Kept, which are turned in at Company Captain Yorshka.

To get a Proof of a Concord Kept, you either need to successfully defend a member of the Way of Blue or kill enemies that drop Proof of a Concord Kept, such as the Silver Knights in Anor Londo.

Rosaria's Fingers

Lore

Sacred seal of Archdeacon Klimt, who served Rosaria, Mother of Rebirth.

Rosaria's Fingers collect tongues in her name. Some do it to be reborn; others do it to help comfort their voiceless goddess.

Joining

Found within the Cathedral in the Cathedral of the Deep. To reach Rosaria, Mother of Rebirth, go to the Cleansing Chapel bonfire. Walk through the shortcut door to the back of the room (having opened it previously) and head immediately to the left on to the lift.

You will enter the tomb with the Cathedral Grave Warden who wields a crossbow. Kill it and proceed outside and to the left, hugging the wall. You will find a ladder, climb it and proceed through the room, killing the Devout of the Deep.

Continue forward by rolling onto the roof of the support beam. Proceed along the roof until you see a opening to the left. Enter the opening to reach the rafters. Head to the other side of the rafters, avoiding the Knight of the Deep and roll onto a platform next to one. Continue forward, watching out for the Man-grubs that attack you. Proceed to the right up the stairs and enter the bed chamber to Rosaria, Mother of Rebirth.

Progression

To rank up in Rosaria's Fingers you must offer Pale Tongues to Rosaria, Mother of Rebirth in the Cathedral of the Deep.

Pale Tongues can be gained through successful invasions, or by killing the Darkwraiths found in the Undead Settlement, specially in the swamp area.

Effects

  • Allows the player to be reborn. This gives you the option to reassign your attribute points, and change your appearance. These cost Pale Tongues, and can be done up to 5 times each, for each play through.
  • Prevents Sirris of the Sunless Realms's questline from occurring.
  • Your phantom color becomes red.

Lore

A malformed vertebra found by the mad, with a queer symbol on its inside, proof of the shackles of the Gods. Equip to pledge oneself to the Mound-makers covenant.

The mound-makers wish only to add to their mounds, becoming mad spirits whether summoned as co-operators or invaders.

They are blithe to those around them, for in their minds, any kill might lead to another shackle.

Joining

To join the Mound-Makers, you need to join before you challenge the Curse-rotted Greatwood. Start by going to the Undead Settlement bonfire. Walk past the rooftops with the Hollow Slaves and drop down. You will find an enemy with a cage on its back. Examine the cage to be teleported to the Mound-Makers covenant area.

If Curse-Rotted Greatwood is dead then go to the entrance of the boss room after having defeated 3 Lords of Cinder. There you can activate the summoning sign of Sirris of the Sunless Realms and join in cooperation. If successful, you will acquire the Covenant. You must not have turned Sirris hostile towards you.

  • How To Access

Progression

You can increase your rank within the Mound-Makers by offering Vertebra Shackles to theSacrificial Altar found in the Undead Settlement, near the Curse-rotted Greatwood courtyard.

You can farm Vertebra Shackles in theCatacombs of Carthus, fighting the red-eyed Skeleton Swordsmen who drop them.

You can also farm them with a Friend with a password by getting summoned by a Red Soapstone (doesn't require to be Enkindled to do so) and kill him, or he just dies. A good spot would be Anor Londo where you can just summon and roll off the edge until you have the Item 30 times.

Effects

  • Your phantom becomes a Mad Dark Spirit, and will appear as purple whilst invading. As a Mad Dark Spirit, you can enter another's world either as a friendly phantom or as an invader.
  • Entering as a friendly phantom allows you to assist as a regular friendly phantom would, although you cannot pass through boss fog. However you can also attack the player, and any other friendly phantoms who summoned you.
  • Entering as an invader will act as a normal invader, and will be unable to attack the enemies in the victim's world.
  • Either method allows other Mad Dark Spirits to attack you, and you them.
  • Either method allows other Dark Spirits from any covenant to attack you, and you them.
  • Your summon sign will appear purple, and it's colour cannot be changed through the use of items like theUntrue White Ring but you can still hide your phantom color using this ring.

Lore

Ancient medallion depicting the crest of a wolf. Symbolizes the pact with the Old Wolf of Farron. Equip to pledge oneself to the Watchdogs of Farron.

The Watchdogs ensure that the warriors sleep in serenity, by taking the form of loyal spirits and hunting down those who would trespass the woods of Farron.

Summoning takes place automatically while this is equipped.

Joining

To obtain the Watchdogs of Farron Sigil, you need to pray to the Old Wolf of Farron in Farron Keep.

Progression

Defend Farron Keep by defeating those who pass through and receive Wolf's Blood Swordgrass. The player can also farm them by killing Ghrus in Farron Keep.

Effects

  • You will appear blue with a red tint.
  • You will be summoned to defend the Old Wolf of Farron from would be assailants in Farron Keep.

Lore

The holy symbol of the Cathedral of the Deep, and crest of those who see beyond fire to the age of deep waters.

The faithful ensure that Aldrich, Devourer of Gods, remains undisturbed, by taking the form of loyal spirits and hunting down those who would trespass the ruined cathedral.

Joining

Found in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley.

From the bonfire after Pontiff Sulyvahn, proceed through the immediate door, up the stairs to the left and through the valley of dead giants. At the end of the valley, enter the door and on the immediately left hit the wall to reveal a ladder going down.
Descend and defeat the two Sulyvahn's Beasts to reach Archdeacon McDonnell to join.

After you defeat Aldrich, Devourer of Gods, McDonnell will be dead and you won't be able to join the covenant.
You can still Join The Aldrich Faithful, after killing Aldrich, Devourer of Gods, if you haven't reached Archdeacon McDonnell, He will be dead, but you can still join and offer Human Dregs.

Progression

Offer Human Dregs to Archdeacon McDonnellat the shrine. These can be gained from successful invasions defending Irithyll of the Boreal Valley.

You can farm Human Dregs by killing the Deacons of the Deep just outside of Aldrich, Devourer of Gods's boss room.

Effects

  • You will appear blue with a red tint.
  • You will be summoned to defend Anor Londo against would-be assailants.
